Battlestar Galactica (a short love letter)

tonight, as many in the geekdom know, is the series finale of battlestar galactica, or BSG as it's known to us dorks. a little bit of background; this is a recreation of the 70s/80s series of the same name. BSG is a space opera about a band of human trying to survive in space trying to get to earth after their worlds were decimated by mechanized beings known as cylons.

for the last 5 or so years we have travelled side by side with the members of the galactica and the various other ships in their convoy across the galaxy. we have felt every high and every low, felt every death and the couple of births there were. we asked ourselves if starbuck was a cylons and were all shocked when we learned who really was a cylon. from boomer shooting adama to the whole big cock tease that was earth, we have been there for every moment.

it really does feel in many ways to be the end of an era. while this show has, in the greater scheme of things, only lasted a short. it's legacy will live on. this is going to be a show that is studied and analyze for years to come. but i must now be going for the end is beginning.

good-bye Battlestar Galactica
